Many common conditions can be treated with acupuncture; and, when treated in conjunction with chiropractic, many times the recovery process takes less time than if treated alone.
Acupuncture is based on meridian channels that are located through out your body. When there are inferences in a meridian channel the body can not function properly. Acupuncture points are located in the meridians, which are then needled to help move chi or vital energy in the body to help your body heal.
In the acupuncture field there are different designations for people who perform this type of healing. There are chiropractors and medical doctors who receive a certificate of acupuncture and licensed acupuncturists. Licensed acupuncturists have a master's degree in acupuncture and can practice without a licensed health professional. A chiropractor and medical doctor may practice with certification in acupuncture under their professional license.

Five Element Theory:
Five Element Theory helps one understand how natural changes within your body and environment affect your health. To help understand these changes, ancient doctors studied nature to determine what universal principles existed that could be applied to health and well-being.
The Five Element Theory is what they came up with.
The five elements are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. They were selected based on the observations of ancient oriental philosophers who theorized that the natural world embodied these fundamental characteristics. Oriental Medicine uses this time-tested, diagnostic model to explore how the various parts of a person's body and mind interact to affect health. This chart is a figure showing the different body & mind relationships related with each organ.
